“We are making photography to understand what our lives mean to us.”

This quote can have many different meaning but this semester of photography I really took a leap of faith with the intention of finding out what my style of photography is. I focused more on darker, creepy, mystory photography thinking that was my style. I soon got tired of it and would of liked to do a lot of different things this semester. This semester of photography has taught me so much even though I might not like the majority of the photos that I produced it taught me a lot about myself and that horror creepy photography isn’t my favorite style of photography. I hope to keep getting out of my comfort zone and really explore to see what my favorite style of photography is I look forward to this journey and the many many photos I will take in the near future. Before I started getting into photography I would do everyday activities and wouldn’t notice how beautiful it was and now when we drive I see all the different things that I had always missed and how I could make cool pictures with the objects. I really like photography and think that it made me a better overall artist. From little things like how will this color effect my photo to choosing what goes into my photo. Some of my photos I got carried away with lightroom or photoshop they look to edited and almost fake which is not what I wanted. I want my photos to look clean and clear and most importantly real not something that has to be tampered with to make it look good. Now don’t get me wrong still like to edit my photos because that brings out the best quality in them just need to tone it back. I feel like some of my best qualities when it comes to photography is knowing how to interpret things into my photo to make it stronger, and knowing the camera and what setting to use when taking the photo. I will use this art or photography in the future because I have learned so many different and amazing skills that would be a waste if I didn’t use them after this class. I will take the camera more places and just take photos for fun in the future because I enjoy taking photos. This semester has taught me a lot about myself and what I like and dislike about photography and most importantly what types of photos I don’t like taking.
